How to update Chaos License Server
Chaos is reaching out about an important update to Chaos Licensing: the server certificate will expire on January 28, 2025.

How to update your Chaos License Server:
Step 1:
Visit the download page of the License Server to download the latest version of the Chaos License Service. Log in with your Chaos ID.
Download link: Chaos License Server
When you visit the website, you will see the download page. If you don’t see your operating system, please select “Download for another OS.”
After entering “Download for another OS,” you can choose your operating system to download.
Step 2:
After downloading the file, locate the cgls_XX(Operating System)_X.X(Version) file in the designated download folder and open it for installation.
After opening it, you will see this window.
Please read and check the two options, then click “Install.”
Step 3:
Wait for the installation process to complete.
Please be patient during the installation.
At the end, you will see the installation completion screen. Click “Finish” to complete the update.
What if an error occurs during installation?
Troubleshooting: Remove the old version. If you encounter issues during installation, ensure you completely remove the old version of the Chaos License Server.
For Windows Users:
Uninstall Chaos License Server:
Navigate to: Start Menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, find the Chaos License Server application, and uninstall it.
Delete the following folders:
C:\Program Files\Chaos
C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\VRLService
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ssl
%appdata%\Chaos\VRLService\ssl
For macOS Users:
Delete the Chaos License Server application.
Delete the following folder: /Users/YOUR_USERNAME/.ChaosGroup/ssl
To access this folder:
Open Finder.
Select “Go > Go to Folder,” then enter ~/.ChaosGroup/ssl.
